Sirindhorn Technology Scholarships for Academic Outstanding Students
(4-Year Continuing Scholarships)

ทุนการศึกษาสิรินธรเทคโนโลยี สำหรับนักศึกษาที่มีผลการเรียนดีเด่น
(ประเภททุนต่อเนื่อง 4 ปี :คัดเลือกผู้รับทุนรายใหม่ จากนักศึกษาใหม่ที่มีคะแนนรับเข้าศึกษาดีเด่น)
1) Objective:
  The SIIT 4-Year Continuing Scholarships program aims to encourage the admission of academic excellence students and also to encourage scholarship recipients to make satisfactory academic progress towards the completion of their degree.
2) Amount of Scholarships:
2.1
Full Scholarships: Full tuition and educational support fees
A Full Scholarship covers the educational support fee and tuition fee in each regular semester.
2.2
Half Scholarships:

- 37,900 Baht/Semester for Students ID 53xx - 55xx
- 42,500 Baht/Semester for Students ID 56xx
- 50% Waiving of education and tuition fees
for Students ID 57xx onwards

 
2.3
Quarter Scholarships: - 18,950 Baht/Semester for Students ID 53xx - 55xx
- 21,250 Baht/Semester for Students ID 56xx
- 25% Waiving of education and tuition fees for Students ID 57xx onwards
   
 
Scholarships will be granted to students in the first and second semesters of each academic year. Scholarships are not available in the summer semester.
3) Scholarships Payment:
  Recipients will be granted scholarships by crediting the SIIT accounts of the students as registration fees and/or tuition fees.
4) Applicant's Qualifications:
4.1
Have been admitted as regular SIIT undergraduate students
4.2
Have good behavior and a clean record with no offences against student disciplines
4.3
Have not been granted other SIIT Continuing Scholarships
5) Application Submission:
  Application submission is not required.
6) Recipient Qualifying Procedure:
  Different types of 4-Year Continuing Scholarships will be offered to new SIIT students based on students' outstanding admission scores.
7) Conditions to Maintain Granted Scholarships:
7.1
Recipients must register to be SIIT regular undergraduate students.
7.2
Recipients must make satisfactory academic progress toward completion of their degree.
7.3
Recipients will be continuously granted scholarships for 8 regular semesters if recipients can
maintain their GPA.
7.4
Recipients who are first-year students shall nonetheless be granted the scholarships continually for a minimum period of one academic year even though the cumulative GPA achieved in the first semester appears to be less than 2.50 with no "F", "U", and "W" grades, otherwise the scholarships will be terminated.

Recipients who are 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year students must maintain the cumulative GPA not less than 2.50 in every semester and not less than 2.75 in two consecutive semesters including the summer semester if students register to study (even with no scholarship support in the summer semester), otherwise the scholarships will be terminated.
7.5
Recipients must not get an "F" (or a "U", if applicable) or "W"grade in any course. An "F", "U", or "W"grade will result in discontinuance of scholarships in the following semester. If the recipients get an "F", "U", or "W"grade, the recipients must reimburse the regular registration fee for the course to which the "F", "U", or "W" grade relates.
7.6
Recipients must be responsible for expenses incurred from any courses other than those determined by the Institute to be taken under the official curriculum.
7.7
Recipients' resignation or otherwise cessation from study at SIIT prior to graduation, other than as a result of death, shall be regarded as the recipient's breach of the scholarships in an amount two times the aggregate amount previously received from SIIT. In such case, the reimbursement to SIIT shall be made by the recipients within 60 days from the day the recipients cease to be students.

If the recipients fail to make payment to the Institute within such time limit, the Institute may charge interest at a rate of 15 percent per annum from the expiration of the aforesaid time limit.
7.8
In the event of the recipients' commission of such misconduct as to be punished for grave breach of the students' discipline, the Institute is entitled to annul the scholarship forthwith. In such case, the recipients shall be regarded as committing a breach of the scholarship agreement and shall, as a consequence thereof, make reimbursement to the Institute in accordance with the rules and rates hitherto set out in Clause 7.7 above.
7.9
Recipients shall have an obligation to assist the Institute for at least 2 hours per week
or not less than 20 hours per semester.

3-Year Continuing Scholarships for SIIT Undergraduate Students
by Sirindhorn Technology Scholarships Fund

1) Objective:
  The 3-Year Continuing Scholarships program aims to encourage SIIT undergraduate student academic potential and good behavior.
2) Amount of Scholarships:
Quarter Scholarships: 25% Waiving of education and tuition fees
(For student ID. 57xx onwards: Currently amount is equal to the SIIT "Quarter" scholarship of 4-Year Continuing Scholarship)
  Scholarships will be granted to students in the first and second semesters of each academic year. Scholarships are not available in the summer semester.
3) Scholarships Payments:
  Recipients will be granted scholarships by crediting the SIIT accounts of the students as registration fees and/or tuition fees.
4) Applicant's Qualifications:
4.1
Be SIIT regular undergraduate first year students with registered credits of not less than 30 credits (Freshmen Class Cumulative Credit Earn) on the date of application submission.
4.2
Have the latest cumulative GPA (CGPA) of not less than 3.75, when students submit the application in the second semester of freshmen class. Because the applications will be considered in advance, the scholarships will be granted to applicants who have a CGPA of two semesters (Freshmen Class CGPA), not less than 3.75 without "F", "U", "W" grades record, only.
4.3
Have good conduct: never been warned in writing of misconduct or reported to be improperly dressed.
4.4
Must not simultaneously receive other SIIT scholarships, except scholarship awards and educational loans.
4.5
Participate in extracurricular activities, and voluntary campus/community service or leadership activities.
5) Application Submission:
 
  • Applicants must follow SIIT announcements regarding application deadline, interview, and result announcements.
 
  • Applications must be submitted to students' academic advisors according to the schedule by the SIIT Student Affairs Division. They will be annually considered in the second semester of each academic year.

Required documents to be enclosed with the application:

A copy of student's recent academic record with student's signature to certify a true copy
5.2
A copy of SIIT Activity Transcipt
5.3
A copy of student's portfolio

If it is found that a recipient has falsified any document or used any false information for the application, his/her scholarship will be revoked and disciplinary action will be taken.

Recipients must contact the SIIT Student Affairs Division to sign the "SIIT Scholarship Agreement" within 2 weeks after the date of the official announcement of scholarship recipients.
 
6) Conditions to Maintain Granted Scholarships:
6.1
Recipients must continuing register to study at SIIT as a regular undergraduate students.
6.2
Recipients must make satisfactory academic progress toward completion of their degree.
6.3
Recipients will be continuously granted scholarships for 6 regular semesters if recipients can
maintain their GPA.
6.4
Recipients must maintain the cumulative GPA not less than 2.50 in every semester and not less than 2.75 in two consecutive semesters including the summer semester if students register to study (even with no scholarship support in the summer semester), otherwise the scholarships will be terminated.
6.5
Recipients must not get an "F" (or a "U", if applicable) or "W"grade in any course. An "F", "U" or "W"grade will result in discontinuance of scholarships in the following semester. Scholarships for Students with Outstanding Activity Performances (OAP)
ทุนการศึกษาสำหรับนักศึกษาที่มีผลงานกิจกรรมดีเด่น
1) Objective:
 

The “Scholarships for Students with Outstanding Activity Performances” program aims to encourage students to organize/participate in voluntary campus/community service and leadership activities, both of academic and non-academic activities. With a focus on high quality and quantity of activity performance, we believe that this scholarship program will support our students’ capabilities to develop themselves along the qualifications of desired graduates.

In case that the amount of scholarship is more than student’s registration expense in the applicable semester, the scholarship will be adjusted to the student’s outstanding debt.

There is an exception for a recipient who has received a full scholarship from another scholarship program. The scholarship will be granted to this student by paying a cheque (award).

3) Applicant's Qualifications:
3.1
Be an SIIT regular undergraduate student
3.2
Have a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of at least 2.50 for 1st - 3rd year students and  2.00  for  4th year students             
3.3
Have good conduct and a clean record on student discipline. A probationary period of one semester is applied for a student who has received a warning on student misconduct.
3.4

Have demonstrated high quality and quantity activities performance:
The proposed performance must be performed during a period of being an active SIIT student and has never been considered for this scholarship.

The proposed performance should be in one of the following categories:

      - Academic Potential
- Arts and Culture
- Engineering and Technology
- Society Contribution
- Sports
4) Application Submission:
 

Applicants must follow the announcements by the SIIT Student Affairs & Alumni Relations Division regarding the schedule of application deadline, presentation & interview, and result announcements.

Application Deadline:
- Scholarships for first semester: April
- Scholarships for second semester: November

1) Objective:
  The SIIT Scholarships for Students with Good Academic Performance and Good Conduct program aims to encourage undergraduate student's academic potential and good behavior.
2) Amount of Scholarships:
  - 18,950 Baht/Semester for Students ID 53xx - 55xx
- 21,250 Baht/Semester for Students ID 56xx
- 25% Waiving of education and tuition fees for Students ID 57xx onwards
The applications are available in the first and second semesters of each academic year.
3) Scholarships Payments:
  Recipients will be granted scholarships by crediting to the SIIT accounts of the students as registration fees and/or tuition fees.
4) Applicant's Qualifications:

Be SIIT regular undergraduate 2nd - 4th year students who have studied at SIIT for at least 2 regular semesters on the date of application submission

1) Objective:
  The SIIT Term-by-Term Scholarships for Students with Financial Needs program provides financial aid to SIIT undergraduate students.
2) Amount of Scholarships:
2.1
Half Scholarship: - 37,900 Baht/Semester for Students ID 53xx - 55xx
- 42,500 Baht/Semester for Students ID 56xx
- 50% Waiving of education and tuition fees for Students ID 57xx onwards
2.2

Quarter Scholarship:

- 18,950 Baht/Semester for Students ID 53xx - 55xx
- 21,250 Baht/Semester for Students ID 56xx
- 25% Waiving of education and tuition fees for Students ID 57xx onwards

 

Note:
Different types of SIIT Term-by-Term Scholarships for Students with Financial Needs will be granted as appropriate to students based on students' financial needs, conduct and academic record.

3) Scholarships Payments:
  Recipients will be granted scholarships by crediting to the SIIT accounts of the students as registration fees and/or tuition fees. Scholarships are available for students in the first and second semesters, but not available in the summer semester.
4) Candidates' Qualifications:
4.1

Be an SIIT regular undergraduate student who has studied at SIIT for at least 2 regular semesters

4.2

Have a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of at least 2.00 when the scholarship is awarded. A student with a CGPA less than 2.25 must attain a semester GPA (SGPA) in the lastest semester higher than the student's CGPA.

4.3
Have demonstrated financial needs
4.4
Have good conduct and a clean record on student disciplines. A probationary period of one year is applied for a student who has received a warning on improper dress.
4.5
Will not receive multiple scholarships in the same semester with combined amount equal to or more than the semester tuition and educational fees, except for unusual cases with extraordinary financial needs.
5) Application Submission:
  Applicants must follow SIIT announcement regarding application deadline, interview and result announcements.
Applications must be submitted in advance to student's academic advisor according to the following schedule:

SIIT Loan for Education

1) Objective:
  The SIIT Term-by-Term Loan program aims to provide the financial aid to SIIT undergraduate needy students.
2) Amount of Loans:
Full Loan: 100% of outstanding debt (education and tuition fees including fines)
 
3) Loans Payments:
  Recipients will be granted loans by crediting to the SIIT accounts of the students as registration fees and/or tuition fees.
4) Applicant's Qualifications:
4.1

Be an SIIT regular undergraduate 2nd - 4th year student who has studied at SIIT for at least two semesters at the date of application submission

4.2
Have a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of at least 2.25 on the date of application submission. A student with a CGPA less than 2.25, but not less than 2.00, must attain a semester GPA (SGPA) in the lastest semester highter than the student's CGPA.
4.3
Be recommended by the academic advisor, Head of school, and the SIIT Scholarships Committee that he/she is a "financially needy student".
4.4
Must not receive any external "Financial Support Scholarship" (except scholarship awards and loans for education) with value >= 65,000 Baht during the period from 4 months prior to and 4 months after the date that the Institute announces the loan approval.
5) Application Submission:
  Applications must be submitted to the SIIT Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Division at least 3 weeks before the final examination of each semester.
 
Required Documents to be enclosed with the application:
(Same as required documents to be enclosed with an application for the SIIT Term-by-Term Scholarships for Needy Students)
 
5.1
A copy of student's recent academic record
 
5.2
A copy of student's house registration
 
5.3
A copy of student's citizen ID card (or passport for non-Thai students)
 
5.4
A copy of guardians' citizen ID cards (father and mother) or a death certificate in a case where the guardian has passed away.
 
5.5
Official evidences of guardians' monthly income:
 
5.5.1
The official monthly salary certification or
 
5.5.2
A copy of salary slip or
 
5.5.3
In case of own business, use an enclosed SIIT Income Certification Form
 
5.6
A handwritten letter from student's guardian notifies family's financial status and need
 
5.7
Other evidences to support student's financial status and need, such as a copy of a loan contract
 


Note: All copies must be endorsed by student's signature to certify true copies.

6) Recipient Qualifying Procedure:
  The SIIT Scholarships Committee will consider the loan applications within a week based on the applicant's financial need, behavior, and academic record.
7) Conditions for SIIT Loan:
7.1
The approved applicant must submit documents and sign the loan agreement with the SIIT Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Division within 1 week after the Institute announces the list of approved loans. Otherwise, the Institute assumes that the student declines the loan.
7.2
The loan guarantor must be:
 
7.2.1
A Thai government officer of not less than "Class 4" and age not over 55 years, or
 
7.2.2
A Thai police officer or commissioned military officer with first lieutenant grade or higher, and age not over 55 years, or
 
7.2.3
Other person with trustee status and evidence of assets, appraised at not less than the total amount of student's applicable loan.
 
Note:   The loan applicant's father-mother and SIIT faculty & staff members are excluded from being a loan guarantor.
7.3
Students who are applying for a loan must normally enroll and pay the fees for registration as
scheduled by the Institute or at least pay the educational support fees.
7.4
The student must pay back the entire loan before graduating from the Institute; otherwise, the Institute will charge interest at the prime rate of the Bank of Thailand.

In case the student cannot pay back the entire loan as specified above, the Institute reserves the right not to issue any certificate or transcript to the student.
7.5
Renewal loans are based on student's financial eligibility and other required qualifications.
7.6

If a student provide false information in applying for SIIT loans, the Institute will revoke the loans and take disciplinary and/or legal action against the student.

The Institute reserves the right to approve/disapprove the loan for each applicant.

นักศึกษาปริญญาตรี SIIT ให้ยื่นกู้ กรอ. (ไม่จำกัดรายได้ครอบครัวผู้กู้) วงเงินกู้ไม่เกิน 70,000 บาท/ปีการศึกษา แต่ถ้ารายได้ครอบครัว ตำกว่า 200,000 บาท/ปี สามารถกู้ กยศ. ในส่วนของค่าครองชีพรายเดือน 2,500 บาท/เดือน เพิ่มเติมได้อีก

* ไม่มีนโยบายให้กู้ยืมแก่นักศึกษา ระดับปริญญาโท และปริญญาเอก
